Book Your Stay for the Miami Beach Polo World Cup This November

Miami-Beach-Polo-2015 copyNowhere does the “sport of kings” better than South Beach, and no one offers the best place to stay during this four-day event than the Z Ocean Miami Beach Hotel. Located between Collins Ave. and Ocean Dr., we are a short distance away from the prestigious Miami Beach Polo World Cup, taking place November 2015 (specific date pending).

Since it was first held on the lovely shores of South Beach in 2005, the event has become one of the most prominent in the sport of polo, drawing over 10,000 fans. An international lineup of teams from as far afield as Argentina and Germany, bring the top polo players in the world to compete for the coveted La Martina Trophy.

The event spans two tournaments: the La Martina Miami Beach Men’s Polo World Cup IX and the La Martina South Beach Women’s Polo Cup V. Both take place between 20th and 22nd Streets, near the Art Deco district. With the distinct Miami Beach skyline to one end, and the endless expanse of the Atlantic Ocean on the other, this match will offer an amazing backdrop, few other polo events enjoy.

The eight women’s teams include such leading players as Pamela Flanagan, Cristina Hosmer, Tiffany Busch, Stephanie Kraml-Suttle and Lynn O’Connor. The men’s tourney will feature such as top-ranked players as Luis Escobar, England’s Jamie Morrison, Holland’s Vincent Mesker, prior Miami Beach and Chicago Beach Polo winner Guille Usandizaga, 2009 MVP John Gobin and nine-goaler Kris Kampsen, to name but a few.

The Miami Beach Polo World Cup includes nightly VIP events culminating in an awards ceremony at the very end. The nonprofit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami will receive a portion of funds raised through ticket sales from the event.

Aside from our ideal location near this exciting event, the Z Ocean South Beach Hotel offers plenty of great comforts that will make your attendance even more enjoyable. Unwind in 79 lavishly appointed suites, some of which feature private rooftop terraces with hot tubs. Enjoy a range of services catering to your every need. The Miami Beach Polo World Cup is best enjoyed from the Z Ocean Hotel South Beach.
