The Magic City Welcomes a Reunited Sin Bandera

screen-shot-2016-09-20-at-9-33-29-amA number of bands of Mexican descent have become household names here in the U.S. Groups such as Maná, Café Tacuba, RBD and Los Tigres del Norte have achieved a considerable degree of domestic and international success. Latin pop duo Sin Bandera emerged in 2002 and became one of the country’s most popular acts after the huge success of its self-titled debut album, which won the 2002 Latin Grammy Award for Best Pop Album by a Duo or Group with Vocals. The band released three additional studio albums before splitting up in 2007 to pursue solo careers.

After eight years of working on solo projects, Sin Bandera reunited in 2015 and released their comeback single “En Ésta No” earlier this year, the first single from their EP called Una Última Vez released in February. The duo has since embarked on their “Una Ultima Vez” tour and one of their stops is right here in the Magic City. On October 9th, Sin Bandera will be bringing their hits like “Entra en Mi Vida” and “Mientes Tan Bien” to the American Airlines Arena. Despite being apart for nearly a decade, previous reviews suggest the duo has not lost any of the musicianship and talent that made them so popular in the early 2000s.

To get in the mood for Sin Bandera, there’s arguably no better place to stay than the Z Ocean Hotel South Beach. We have a collection of relaxing suites in our Miami Beach hotel and plenty of fantastic amenities to ensure your stay is comfortable and always relaxing. Call 1.877.688.4232 to book a stay at our South Beach hotel and you’ll be all set to celebrate Sin Bandera’s reunion.

Relive the 90s in Bayfront Park This Labor Day Weekend

ggDollsDuring the 1990s, a number of successful rock bands emerged in popularity and would go on to become radio staples. Bands like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Nirvana all achieved a considerable degree of success, as did the Goo Goo Dolls. Formed in 1986, the Goo Goo Dolls achieved major success in 1995, when they released the double platinum selling A Boy Named Goo, their fifth studio album. A Boy Named Goo featured the band’s first major hit “Name”, which reached the top five of the Billboard Hot 100 charts. With the momentum of “Name”, Goo Goo Dolls would achieve even greater success and cross over into multiple radio genres after releasing the smash hit “Iris” in 1998, written for the Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan film City of Angels.

Although the Goo Goo Dolls haven’t returned to the degree of success they achieved in the 90s, the band continues to perform and release new music to this day; releasing its eleventh album Boxes back in May. The band will be performing at the Bayfront Park Amphitheater Labor Day weekend on Friday, September 2nd and will be joined by another band that became popular in the 90s: Collective Soul, best known for their hits “Shine”, “December”, and “The World I Know”.

It’s going to be a celebration of great music and 90s nostalgia, and the best place to stay when you’re getting ready to enjoy it is at Z Ocean Hotel South Beach. Our Miami Beach hotel is less than twenty minutes away from Bayfront Park and features a collection of gorgeous suites and unique amenities like a glass bottom pool. Maroon 5 Comes to the Magic City

maroon5tourHave you ever watched The Voice? If so, you’re probably familiar with Adam Levine, one of the long running judges on the singing talent show. Adam Levine has developed his own celebrity status, but he rose to fame as the frontman and lead guitarist for American pop rock band Maroon 5.

Originally going by the name of Kara’s Flowers, the band flew under the radar until they changed their name and released their debut album, the multiplatinum Songs About Jane, which spawned radio staples like “Harder to Breathe”, “She Will Be Loved”, and “This Love”. Sophomore effort It Won’t Be Soon before Long also achieved success thanks to hits like “Makes Me Wonder”, “Wake Up Call”, and “If I Never See Your Face Again”. Their latest album, V was released in 2014 and even two years after its release, songs like “Sugar” and “Animals” can still be heard on the radio.

Maroon 5 will be performing next month right here in the Magic City at the American Airlines Arena on Wednesday, September 7th. The band will be joined by Swedish singer and songwriter Tove Lo who is perhaps best known for her hits “Habits (Stay High)” and “Talking Body”. If you’ve seen The Voice or caught one of his appearances on a talk show, you’re already aware of Levine’s charisma and magnetic personality.
