Madonna Brings Rebel Heart to Miami

rebelHeartTourNames like Taylor Swift and Meghan Trainor are among the most popular names in music right now, with a string of top ten hits between them.  However, both of these talented ladies probably owe a lot of their success to the venerable entertainer Madonna.  With a career spanning over three decades that’s still going strong today, the singer, actress, songwriter, businesswoman, and former Miami resident is considered one of the most influential artists in the world.  Madonna also remains an important LGBT icon, supporting causes like same-sex marriage rights.

Madonna’s tours are among the highest grossing and most elaborate stage shows in music.  In fact, her “Sticky and Sweet Tour” and “MDNA Tour” are both within the top twenty highest grossing tours of all time.  The singer is currently on the road performing the “Rebel Hear Tour”, her tenth concert tour promoting her album Rebel Heart released earlier this year.  The tour features a mix of her most recent material as well as classics like “Material Girl”, “Like a Virgin”, and “La Isla Bonita”.  Reviewers have complimented Madonna’s continued creativity, her camaraderie with the audience, the visuals, and the remixes of some of her older material.

The “Queen of Pop” will be performing her Rebel Heart Tour at the American Airlines Arena in Miami on January 23rd and the 24th, with tickets still available for the latter date.  The arena is only a few minutes from Z Ocean Hotel South Beach where you can enjoy the experience of 79 incredible suites.  Get “Into the Groove” with Madonna and then enjoy a stay by the ocean at our South Beach hotel, right in the heart of all the South Beach entertainment and dining.  Call 1.877.688.4232 to book a stay at our Miami Beach hotel.

Spend a Holiday Evening with Michael McDonald

michaelMcdonaldTourAmerican singer and songwriter Michael McDonald has developed a loyal fan following thanks in part to his uniquely soulful baritone voice, lauded for its richness.  His career spans more than three decades, earning him five Grammy Awards with an illustrious body of musical output that he continues to release.  His most recent album Soul Speak was released in 2008, peaking within the Billboard 200’s top 20.

McDonald’s career started with the critically acclaimed bands Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers, touring with the former and becoming a full-time member of the latter.  During his time with The Doobie Brothers, the band would go on to experience tremendous success with singles like “Takin’ It to the Streets” and the chart-topping, Grammy Award-winning “What a Fool Believes”.  After leaving the band, McDonald would go on to even greater success, recording several top ten hits including the number one duet “On My Own” featuring singer Patti LaBelle.

Fans of Michael McDonald can currently catch him touring the country performing some of his material interspersed with familiar and original holiday-themed tunes during his “Michael McDonald: This Christmas – An Evening of Holiday & Hits”.  The show is coming to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood later this month on Thursday, December 17th.  Previous reviews have complimented the balance of McDonald’s songs and holiday classics like “White Christmas”, as well as his interaction with the audience.

Our Soho Design House Event Was a Huge Success

12-8

Did you get a chance to attend Art Basel 2015?  This year, the attendance was larger, the art was bolder, and it managed to draw some notable names.  Movie star and art aficionado Leonardo DiCaprio was reportedly spotted at the event and so were celebrities like baseball player Alex Rodriguez and actor Sylvester Stallone, a former Miami resident.  At the Z Ocean Hotel South Beach, the Art Basel festivities drew a large, eclectic crowd to the Breezeway Lounge located on the hotel lobby; let’s take a look at some of the highlights.

At the exclusive RSVP-only media event held on December 4th, the Los Angeles-based Soho Design House set up a stunning showcase of intricately hand-woven contemporary rugs and also debuted street artist Tristan Eaton’s “Audrey”, a vivid portrait painting depicting late actress Audrey Hepburn in a variety of unique patterns, designs and text.  As guests admired the artwork throughout the evening, there was also a unique opportunity to snap a picture with the pair of “mermaids” swimming in the hotel’s glass-bottom pool.

The event was complemented by fantastic music by DJ Mike Deleasa and a delectable selection of hors d’oeuvres from the Front Porch Cafe, including rapper Jay-Z’s D’Ussé cognac cocktails.  Overall, the night proved to be a fun, enriching, and successful event for our hotel guests and attendees.

We are always hosting new events like this one at our Miami Beach hotel and we welcome you to be a part of it all.  Call 1.877.688.4232 to book one of the 79 South Beach hotel suites today and make sure to visit our website to stay on top of the latest updates and future events.

Take a Trip Back in Time During Art Deco Weekend

0812102_VISA_SThe Art Basel 2015 festivities are officially over, but there is never a shortage of events going on for art lovers and admirers. If you were unable to make it to Art Basel last week, there are more events beginning next month, starting with Art Deco weekend.

The Art Deco Weekend dates back to more than forty years, making it one of the oldest annual events held in Miami Beach. Taking place in Ocean Drive, the 3-day event is scheduled to launch on January 15, 2016. Presented by the Miami Design Preservation League, the festival aims to reinforce the importance of preserving historic architecture in the Art Deco District through a fusion of more than eighty educational events, live music, guided tours, a street fair, fashion shows, and more.

Details on the specific times when the various events will take place have yet to be revealed but among the activities, attendees will be able to experience a colorful assortment of activities including a fantasy theater and guided tours. On the 17th, the South Florida Lindy Collective will transform Miami Beach’s Art Deco District back to the days when swing dance dominated the dance floors. Guests are encouraged to wear vintage clothing during Deco Dance and there will also be a vintage car and fashion show to complement the classic experience.

Located at the heart of the Art Deco District is the Z Ocean Hotel South Beach, a luxurious boutique hotel that is among the most popular places to stay for these festivities. Our Miami Beach hotel is moments from the Art Deco District and the 79 suites are designed to provide optimum comfort. Call 1.877.688.4232 to book one of our South Beach hotel suites.
