Prepare to Indulge in South Beach Wine & Food!

timthumbWhile much of the country contends with cold and often freezing weather, Miami Beach will be at its most beautiful – the perfect time to host the gourmet’s dream that is South Beach Wine & Food Festival! Taking place the weekend of February 19-22, this star-studded occasion features an incredible selection of the world’s finest culinary creations.

Since 1997, South Beach Wine & Food has been the world’s premier gastronomic event, growing from a quaint one-day festival to a four-day extravaganza that features the world’s best chefs and wine experts – and their celebrated creations! Past guests have included the likes of Rachael Ray, Guy Fieri, Bobby Flay, Giada De Laurentiis, Robert Irvine and many more.

SouthBeach makes the perfect backdrop for this occasion, with its crisp ocean breezes, stunning beaches, and wide selection of world-class dining venues, many of which will be catering to participants. With the last two years in particular breaking records for attendance, 2015 is sure to be the most exciting yet, with an estimated 65,000 expected.

There will be over 60 events to choose from throughout the four-day period, including seminars, private dinners, late-night parties, tastings, and more. Some highlights to consider include the Oyster Bash, which pairs various seafood delicacies with fabulous wins; The Amstel Light Burger Bash, a Rachel Ray-hosted contest between 25 of the nation’s top burger specialists; and the Whole Foods Market grand Tasting Village, which offers a little bit of everything right on the beach.

There are multiple brunch events to choose from, hosted by top Food Network stars, like Table Brunch hosted by Geoffrey Zakarian and the Southern Kitchen Brunch hosted by Trisha Yearwood. All of your favorite chefs and culinary personalities will have their own 45-minute segments on the KitchenAid Culinary Demonstration stage, followed by cookbook selling and autograph signing.

Celebrate Miami Beach’s Centennial at Z Ocean Hotel South Beach

100-Year-Miami-Beach-Z Ocean HotelZ Ocean Hotel is proud to be the premier South Beach Hotel in beautiful and vibrant Miami Beach. From our iconic Art Deco design, to our central location between Collins Avenue and Ocean Drive, we have always been part of the heart and soul of what makes this city great.

That is why we invite you for a stay at our Miami Beach Hotel as the city marks its 100th birthday on March 26, 2015. This momentous occasion will be celebrated well before the exact day the city was founded, giving you plenty of options for fun and unique festivities throughout the year.

The party starts just two weeks into the New Year with Art Deco Weekend, which runs from Jan. 16th–18th. This free annual festival takes place along Ocean Drive and will be even bigger and more vibrant to commemorate the centennial. Most of the street will be closed to traffic and lined with blocks of artisans selling everything from vintage art to jewelry. You will find magicians, dancers, live music, a classic car show, and a parade. Adjacent Lummus Park will even turn into a carnival for family friendly events, all this will take place amid the backdrop of America’s largest concentration of Art Deco architecture, much of it going back to the 1920s and 30s.

There will plenty of great outdoor events going on throughout the year too. Every Wednesday, the SoundScape Cinema Series takes place at the beautiful New World Symphony Center, freely screening all sorts of films on the building’s large wall.

On Feb. 8th, Collins Park will host a free concert by Orchestra Miami beginning at 6:00 pm from March. 22nd–26th, the free 100-Hour Centennial Celebration will bring together musical talents from all over the world, promising to be the biggest event ever to take place on the famous Beach.

Celebrate Miami Beach’s rich artistic heritage with a visit to Lincoln Road on Feb. 1st, which will be lined with a variety of art projects and gallery works sponsored by ArtCenter/South Florida. The iconic Wolfsonian-FIU, which has free admission every Friday evening, will feature a variety of historic and avant-garde art from the city’s eclectic past.

Other events to kick-off the Centennial include the world-famous South Beach Wine & Food Festival (Feb. 19th–22nd); the Miami International Boat Show (Feb. 12th-16th), which will feature 3,000 boats of all kinds; and the Winter Party Festival (March 4th–9th), an extravagant collection of dance and cocktail parties along the beach.

These are just some of the many ways you can celebrate Miami Beach’s Centennial. Z Ocean Hotel South Beach offers the perfect place from which to enjoy these events and more. Not only is our boutique hotel conveniently close to most of the vibrant activities throughout town, but it offers 79 private and lavish suites in which to enjoy an intimate and resort-style stay; select rooms even include a private rooftop terrace and hot tub.
