Lauryn Hill Visits Miami Beach for the Holidays

laurynhilltourThe 90s brought us a tremendous amount of talented hip-hop, rap, and R&B acts. Arrested Development, Erykah Badu, and The Roots are some of the artists that saw success during the decade. Arguably eclipsing their success was The Fugees, a trio comprised of rappers Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel, and singer Lauryn Hill. The group scored several hits, particularly the cover of Roberta Flack’s 1971 song “Killing Me Softly”, which prominently featured Lauryn Hill’s vocals.

Shortly after the release of their second and final album The Score, Hill embarked upon a solo career, releasing her solo debut album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill in 1998 which went on to achieve massive success, selling nearly 20 million copies worldwide and winning five Grammy Awards.

While Hill has yet to properly follow up her debut album, the singer has continued to tour for years. If you’d like to see her in concert, she will be performing at The Fillmore on December 9th as part of the MLH Caravan: A Diaspora Calling! Concert Series featuring a multitude of artists from various parts of the African diaspora, in addition to Hill’s hits. Previous performances have included well-known songs like “Everything Is Everything” and even a few Fugees tunes, so it should be a fun experience for new and longtime fans.

The Fillmore is less than ten minutes away from Z Ocean Hotel South Beach and it’s a perfect play to stay if you’re planning on seeing Lauryn Hill in concert. Book one of the many Miami Beach hotel suites for the holidays and enjoy a supremely relaxing experience. Call 1.877.688.4232 to make a reservation at our South Beach hotel before we’re all booked!

The Magic City Welcomes a Reunited Sin Bandera

screen-shot-2016-09-20-at-9-33-29-amA number of bands of Mexican descent have become household names here in the U.S. Groups such as Maná, Café Tacuba, RBD and Los Tigres del Norte have achieved a considerable degree of domestic and international success. Latin pop duo Sin Bandera emerged in 2002 and became one of the country’s most popular acts after the huge success of its self-titled debut album, which won the 2002 Latin Grammy Award for Best Pop Album by a Duo or Group with Vocals. The band released three additional studio albums before splitting up in 2007 to pursue solo careers.

After eight years of working on solo projects, Sin Bandera reunited in 2015 and released their comeback single “En Ésta No” earlier this year, the first single from their EP called Una Última Vez released in February. The duo has since embarked on their “Una Ultima Vez” tour and one of their stops is right here in the Magic City. On October 9th, Sin Bandera will be bringing their hits like “Entra en Mi Vida” and “Mientes Tan Bien” to the American Airlines Arena. Despite being apart for nearly a decade, previous reviews suggest the duo has not lost any of the musicianship and talent that made them so popular in the early 2000s.

To get in the mood for Sin Bandera, there’s arguably no better place to stay than the Z Ocean Hotel South Beach. We have a collection of relaxing suites in our Miami Beach hotel and plenty of fantastic amenities to ensure your stay is comfortable and always relaxing. Call 1.877.688.4232 to book a stay at our South Beach hotel and you’ll be all set to celebrate Sin Bandera’s reunion.
