Celebrate a Historic Day in Wilton Manors

stonewallPrideDid you miss out on the Miami Beach Pride festivities last month? No need to worry, several pride events are happening all throughout the month of June and one of the largest is the annual Wilton Manors Stonewall Festival & Parade. The festival earns its name from the riots that took place on June 18, 1969 when members of the LGBT community violently demonstrated against a police raid. The day has since become historic for being an important event that contributed significantly to the gay liberation movement and LGBT rights. You can still visit the site of the Stonewall Inn in New York’s Greenwich Village to this day.

The Wilton Manors Stonewall Festival & Parade is among the largest community driven events of its kind in South Florida. Usually, it is attended by 20,000 to 30,000 individuals and families each year. Besides the parade, the event also features numerous street vendors, live performances, food trucks, and more. Wilton Manors is considered one of the most LGBT-friendly cities in South Florida, with a large community and several gay-owned businesses.

You won’t need to pay to attend the festival and parade, though donations are accepted. If you’re planning on attending, it will be held at Wilton Drive on June 18th, the same day as the Stonewall riots. Should you need a place to stay, our Miami Beach hotel is LGBT friendly and we would love to have you as our guest on this historic day. Call 1.877.688.4232 to book your stay at our South Beach hotel today and support a great cause!

Get to Know Wynwood and the Art District

wynwoodWallsIf you’re planning on visiting Miami Beach for the first time this summer, you’re in for quite an eye-opening experience. With its profusion of culture and world class beaches, the barrier island is essentially a paradise and the Z Ocean Hotel South Beach is here to help you make the most of the experience. You’re going to love what Miami Beach has to offer if you happen to be an art aficionado, an enthusiast or just someone who appreciates artistic works..

Miami Beach is home to the Miami Beach Architectural District; better known as the Miami Art Deco District. Bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the east, Sixth Street to the south, Alton Road to the west, the Collins Canal and Dade Boulevard on the northern side, this richly historic district encompasses a large portion of the trendy South Beach area. Among its more than 900 architecturally dazzling buildings, the Art Deco District is also home to the mansion that once belonged to the late Italian fashion designer, Gianni Versace.

However the artwork isn’t limited to just the architectural marvels in Miami Beach. Head over to the Wynwood Art District in Miami and you’ll find one of the largest open-air, street art installations in the world. The Wynwood Walls are a brilliant collection of beautiful street art murals and have been featured in notable publications like the New York Times. During the second Saturday of each month, the district is packed with people participating in Wynwood Art Walk. On this day various galleries, studios, and showrooms open their doors for some great art, music, and drinks.

Z Ocean Hotel South Beach is one of the top hotels in the city and a perfect way to get a feel for the rich art and culture. Our all-suite Miami Beach hotel is close to the Art Deco District and just a few minutes from Wynwood. Get to know the city and soak in its many sights by calling 1-877-688-4232 to book a stay at our South Beach hotel this summer.

Justin Bieber Brings Purpose to Miami

JBtour“Is it too late now to say sorry?” For 22 year old Justin Bieber, he has absolutely nothing to be sorry about. The singer-songwriter has become a genuine multiplatinum-selling pop star since his early beginnings as just another YouTube star looking for his big break. His fourth studio album, Purpose, was released last year and debuted at number one on the Billboard charts with catchy hits like “What Do You Mean?”, the acoustically-tinged “Love Yourself”, and yes, “Sorry”.

Justin Bieber is currently on tour promoting his highly successful Purpose album, which has sold over three million copies worldwide. The appropriately named Purpose World Tour has received positive reviews for its choreography, the set list, and Bieber’s several acoustic performances that harken back to his early days performing songs on his guitar before he became a bestselling musician.

Originally scheduled to perform on Saturday, July 2nd, demand for Bieber’s tour has been so overwhelming that a second date has been added for the following day, Sunday July 3rd at 7:30 pm. Bieber will be performing at the American Airlines Arena, just a couple of minutes away from Z Ocean Hotel South Beach. Book a stay at our all-suite Miami Beach hotel and you’ll be all set to sing along to Justin Bieber’s current and older hits like “Baby” and “As Long As You Love Me”.
