Launched in 1985 by the Health Crisis Network and spearheaded by businessman Frank Wager, the White Party was created as a means of combating the then relatively unknown AIDS epidemic, which is still largely affecting the gay community. It has since become one of the most relevant annual fundraising events reinforcing the importance and ongoing commitment towards research and prevention of HIV/AIDS. Although it’s geared towards highlighting an important cause, the week-long event is a celebration of community solidarity through music and awareness, but it is certainly not limited to the LGBT community. Attendees in general will wear white to symbolize purity and elegance.
The event will run from November 25th through the 30th and will feature music by the well-known DJ Kopelli. Prior to the launch of this event, there will be an opening party on the 21st with Whitehaus IV at the Island House resort in Key West. Guests can enjoy free admission if they have already purchased a White Party Week ticket, as well as sip a complimentary cocktail during an all-day poolside extravaganza.
On opening day, visit the Bailo Nightclub in Miami and party with an energizing selection of great music during the White Heat Latin party. The events continue in the Heart Nightclub and Club Space before culminating with the White Party itself in Bayfront Park on Saturday, November 28th aboard the elegant Grand Floridian Mega Yacht. There is also a Women’s White Party taking place over at Nikki Beach, less than ten minutes away from Z Ocean Hotel South Beach.
